Often times getting injured is easier than finding what type of expert is appropriate to treat that injury. TennisMD has put together a team of medical experts that can make it easy to find your sport specific expert in your geographical area. Here are the types of experts that TennisMD has available to you.

Chiropractor- Chiropractic is a complementary and alternative medicine health care profession that focuses on diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on the functions of the nervous system and general health. It emphasizes manual therapy including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft-tissue manipulation.

Golf Fitness Expert – A Tennis Fitness Expert is qualified to perform physical screening and develop a program that will focus on the deficiencies of the Tennis. They will develop a program to meet your individual needs and motivate you to improve. It will help your golf game become more consistent and decrease your risk of injury.

Massage Therapist- Massage is the treatment and practice of manipulation of the soft body tissues with physical, functional, i.e. mechanical, medical/therapeutic, and in some cases psychological purposes and goals.

Orthopedic Surgeon- An orthopedic surgeon uses surgical, medical, or physical means to investigate, preserve and restore functions to a patient's extremities or spine. They deal with both primary and secondary musculoskeletal issues of a patient's central nervous system, such as tumors, injuries, degenerative disease, trauma, congenital deformities and infections. They specialize in the muscles, ligaments, bones, tendons, joints and nerves, which allow our bodies move.

Physical Therapist- Physical therapy is a healthcare profession concerned with prevention, treatment and management of movement disorders arising from conditions and diseases. Physical therapy is performed by either a physiotherapist (PT) or an assistant (PTA) acting under their direction.

Podiatrist- A podiatrist, or DPM (doctor of podiatric medicine), is the only health care professional whose total training focuses on the foot, ankle and related body systems. The podiatric physician cares for people of all ages, treating any foot problem. The common disorders include bunions, heel pain/spurs, hammertoes, neuromas, ingrown toenails, warts, corns and calluses. The podiatric physician also renders care of sprains, fractures, infections, and injuries of the foot, ankle and heel.

Sports Medicine Physician- A physician with specialized sports medicine training who promotes lifelong fitness and wellness, and encourages prevention of illness and injury. This physician helps the patient maximize function and minimize disability and time away from sports, work, or school.

Sports Nutritionist- Professionals dedicated and trained on how to help an athlete’s performance by evaluating and improving their diet.

Sports Psychologist- Sports psychology the study of a people's behavior in sport. It is also a specialization within the brain psychology and kinesiology that seeks to understand psychological/mental factors that affect performance in sports, physical activity, and exercise.
